Classic Africa Safaris reports changes to vaccination certificate requirements when entering Rwanda and Uganda. Travelers entering Rwanda or Uganda must now provide proof of current yellow fever vaccination. Vaccination proof is not a new requirement, however enforcement at all entry points is new. Due to an outbreak of yellow fever in Angola, the governments of Rwanda and Uganda are implementing preventative measures against the importation of cases into their countries. Unvaccinated travelers will have the vaccine administered to them upon entry (at a charge). CAS strongly recommends travelers carry their ‘International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis’ with them throughout their travels.
Some of Ecuador’s culture and history on display at Casa del Alabado |
Where can you find 7,000 years of Ecuadorian history under one roof? Casa del Alabado is tucked into Quito’s historic district and houses more than 5,000 pieces of archaeological art. During 2016, Tropic Journeys and the museum owners are working on a range of special behind-the-scenes, hands-on experiences exclusive to Tropic’s clients. One experience is about the medicinal and spiritual use of plants, and during a privately guided journey guests will be immersed in their ancient healing powers. Contact Andrea to learn more about this special experience.
Elephant-proofing Nehimba’s plumbing |
The Imvelo Safari Lodges team just returned from the field and has shared progress and photos from the ongoing refurb at award-winning Nehimba Lodge. Improvements include soft refurb touches as well as structural enhancements. See the full project list on our blog. The soon-to-be-finished refurb coupled with incredible wildlife sightings and consistently happy travelers (Trip Advisor reviewers can’t say enough wonderful things about Nehimba!) demand a visit to this special lodge deep inside Hwange National Park. Perhaps best of all, there have been significant late rains in Hwange, providing relief to human and animal residents alike!
New Frontiers has shared news about big changes at MalaMala. Michael Rattray, founder and previous owner of MalaMala, Stephen Saad, owner of Kirkman’s Kamp and members of the N’wandlamhari Communal Property Association have formed a private public partnership that will operate the ‘new’ MalaMala Game Reserve. The guest experience will be much the same with some notable enhancements including upgrades to Main and Sable Camps, a new camp in the Southern section in 2019, a new photographic vehicle and new traversing rights. 2017 rates will stay the same, though Federal Air rates have increased. Contact Faith for further information.
For more information on any of the updates included above, please contact the Kusini Collection or your tour consultant at the appropriate operator.
