Fernandina is the most active volcano in the Galapagos archipelago, and after nearly a decade of dormancy, Tropic Ecuador tells us that it has roared back to life! Fernandina island is located over 620 miles off the coast of Ecuador and has no human population, but is home to iguanas, birds, penguins, sea lions and other endemic species. Fernandina is the youngest island and has the most active volcano in the Galapagos archipelago, and travelers lucky enough to be cruising in that area will get to see the continued evolution of the Islands!
