We at Imvelo want nothing more than to see tourism in Zimbabwe thrive once more and to be part of that recovery and so during this global crisis we have taken steps to reset and make necessary changes to the shape of our business. Armed with resilience, we have carved a clear path forward to survive the economic fallout of COVID with minimal disruption to the trade.
As we look toward the future – Imvelo Safari Lodges will be evolving and building on our world class experiential offering in Hwange National Park where our area of expertise lies. As ‘Hwange’ is Imvelo’s heartland, we will be transitioning in the coming months to a new era where the Imvelo Safari Lodges brand will consist of our 4 diversified Hwange camps, ( which are Bomani, Camelthorn, Nehimba and Jozibanini) stretching from the North to the South of the park all offering unique experiences and safari activities and we will transition out of ownership of our two Victoria Falls properties – Gorges Lodge and Zambezi Sands. However, the good news is we will continue to collaborate and work together very closely to ensure this transition is seamless in the medium term for our valued partners in the tourism industry.
At this point in the journey, Imvelo Safari Lodges will continue to manage the marketing and bookings for Gorges Lodge and Zambezi Sands until further notice and as any new developments are finalised, we will keep the trade updated. For now, the expert consultant team at Imvelo and our dedicated reps around the world are still on standby to plan circuits which may involve Gorges Lodge and Zambezi Sands with our Hwange properties and all existing and new bookings will be honoured for Gorges Lodge and Zambezi Sands at rates and terms currently published to the trade.
We are also pleased to announce that John Laing will be the new GM for the two northern properties, ably assisted by Jaco Kok and that the familiar smiling faces from management to guides will still be there to meet our guests in the coming months when travel resumes. For the foreseeable future, there will be no changes in planning safaris using the Imvelo one stop shop experiential ‘circuit’ and guests will still receive the warm hospitality from the Imvelo team that they are used too whether at the Victoria Falls properties or our Hwange camps.
Through offering life changing experiences for travellers, we at Imvelo continue to aspire to educate, engage, and empower people and communities as well as conserve, protect, and rehabilitate wildlife and wilderness areas and we want to thank you for your continued support of our authentic Imvelo camps and we will keep all our partners in tourism updated in the coming months as this exciting journey unfolds.
