A Mighty Movement in Baja California Sur

Todos Santos Eco Adventures have been an incredible leader in their community with their involvement in the Deplastificate Todos Santos movement (read more on our blog here).

The momentum is growing by the day and even the annual Todos Santos Film Festival made the theme “Desplastificate” this year. To push this theme home, the Film Festival did a “CineMinuto” film competition, in which participants from across the state of Baja California Sur made a two minute film on their phone on the topic of Desplastificate. Famous Mexican directors judged the event, and the winner was presented with a GoPro Hero 7. You can view the winning film here (may we also suggest you view a submission featuring TOSEA’s own Sergio Jauregui and guides here). It has created amazing community awareness, and now the winning film will be shown at other film festivals in Mexico! Following this important effort, The GastroVino Festival in Todos Santos (which will be held May 17-19 and is an excellent experience to incorporate into future itineraries!) has agreed to make the whole festival achieve the 3 turtle rating, which means no plastic bags, no plastic straws, no plastic bottles and no styrofoam at the festival or from participating restaurants and vintners. Fantastico!
