Overlooking Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge is one of the area’s loveliest luxury lodges. Classic Africa Safaris reports that during 2017, the lodge has been progressively renovated and all areas have fully reopened as of this month. The lodge now features a redesigned guest lounge and dining area that bring the feel of the forest into the stylish interiors. The main living area has a central fireplace which acts as a focal point for guests to relax and discuss the day’s events. A newly designed outdoor terrace gives dramatic views of the forest and is a great place to spot monkeys and birds hidden in the foliage.
The eight individual bandas have been been totally restyled with warm luxurious interiors and inviting four-poster beds and locally-inspired furniture, while a new spa, massage and relaxation center is due to open by the end of March.
Bwindi Bar (in the nearby village) is the most stylish and colorful bar in the area! Guests can enjoy informal tapas-style meals inspired by Ugandan dishes. The bar was set up to train disadvantaged local youngsters in hospitality, and is run by Volcanoes Safaris Partnership Trust.
