During an unforgettable two-week safari and experience led by Classic Zambia’s guide trainer, Kyle Branch, Classic Zambia guides Joshua, Given, and Johan embarked on an enriching journey through South Africa’s stunning landscapes.
The adventure kicked off with a thrilling four-night stay in Kruger National Park, where the guides encountered remarkable wildlife such as lion, wild dogs, hyena dens, giraffe and white rhinos. The giraffe and rhino took the limelight as these species are not present in the Kafue or Lower Zambezi national parks.
Following their time in Kruger, the group headed to Cape Vidal in KwaZulu Natal for three nights, soaking up the sun on the beach and delighting in close-up sightings of white rhino, red duikers, blue monkeys and bush pigs, alongside an array of exquisite birds. It was all ice-lollies (popsicles) and football on the beach, with a few late nights looking for nesting turtles.
Next, they experienced the luxury of Zuka Private Game Reserve with beautiful lodges and outstanding hospitality. The thrill of spotting a cheetah with her cubs having a long drink which was something new to the group, but was soon surpassed by the awe of seeing a black rhino – which ended up charging up to the vehicle with a loud snort- EXHILARATING!
The trip continued with a weekend in Durban, where the group explored uShaka Marine World, marveled at the aquarium and its sharks and also watched dolphins which no one had seen before! The rest of the day was spent in loud laughter at each other, as they attempted all the water slides at the water park!
The guides had their first taste of seafood while enjoying the vibrant city life of Durban and its huge shopping centers.
The journey concluded in the scenic Natal Midlands, highlighted by a poignant visit to the Battle of Rorke’s Drift where their captivating storyteller brought the history to life, instilling in the guides a deep appreciation for their role in positively impacting the lives of those they will guide in the future.
There is great excitement for the next few guide trips planned for the end of 2025.
