The World’s 50 Best Restaurants were announced today from Cipriani Wall Street in New York.
Kusini favorite The Test Kitchen has done remarkably well, ranking 22nd Best Restaurant in the World! This Cape Town gem is a hub for award-winning chef Luke Dale-Roberts. It’s home to some of his most creative and memorable dishes.
For the first time in the 15 years of the World’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards the ceremony was held in New York, seeing the world’s fifty chefs from around the globe gathering in the Big Apple, including Chef Roberts.
The initiative of Restaurant magazine in the UK uses 900 expert judges from around the world. A total of about 7,000 votes were cast to vote for the world’s best restaurants. The Test Kitchen came in at number 28 last year, having sped up the top 100 list, from 48th in 2014. In 2013 it was named ‘One to Watch‘, a tremendous honor, when it was ranked at 61st, having entered the Top 100 at number 74 in 2012.
Warm congratulations to chef Roberts and his staff for this well-deserved recognition!
Remember that New Frontiers can help to book your foodie pax into South Africa’s hottest restaurants. Just be sure to give them as much notice as possible, as tables can be challenging to come by!
