New Kenya e-visa mandatory as of September 1st:
Kenya: From July 2015, Kenya introduced online visa application. The online system will run concurrently with the existing manual system, until end of August. From September 1, only online applications will be accepted. You will need to provide a scanned copy of your passport, and a scanned passport photograph to apply.
President Obama’s Kenya Visit
Last month saw the arrival of the US President, Barack Obama for the sixth Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) held in Nairobi. This was a historical event, considering that it was the first ever visit to Kenya by a sitting US president. Security was heightened and Kenyans were on high spirits to welcome Obama in their usual hospitable manner.
President Obama said that Masai Mara and Lamu were in his wish list of places to visit in Kenya again. Reminiscing about his visit to Lamu with Michelle after their engagement, he nostalgically remembered taking the dhow to fish, and cooking the fish right at the beach.

The Wildebeest Migration Is Here!
Although a bit later than usual, The great wildebeest migration has begun, with several thousand wildebeests crossing the Sand River into the Masai Mara. In the past weeks, some herds, comprising of mostly zebras have been spotted crossing the sand river and at the lookout point

Lemala Camp Introduces the Kids Club
Travelling with kids to Africa may appear to be a daunting prospect. However, in Tanzania, Lemala Camps are offering a wide range of wonderful opportunities for children to experience and enjoy the magic of the Africa bush.
Kids aged 12 and under travelling to Lemala Camps and Lodges will enjoy at no extra charge access to Lemala Cubs activities which include a special Lemala Cubs rucksack filled with colouring pencils, a water bottle, a Lemala Activity book filled with puzzles and educational information on the wildlife and surrounding flora and fauna, magic dust to create casts of spoor found around the camps. Kids will learn how to roast marshmallows over the fires, throw (blunt) spears and use bows and arrows like the Maasai, learn tracking techniques, identify wildlife, walk with the Maasai, learn about Tanzania and so much more. We cater for early kids dinners that are healthy for kids to refuel at the end of each adventure filled day. Returning to their rooms in the evenings, kids will find a specially chosen Africa story to lull them to sleep with dreams of the following fun filled day. Coastal Aviation Introduces First Class Flight From Zanzibar to Serengeti
The airline has introduced a new direct flight between Zanzibar and Serengeti National Park. Aimed at taking passengers more comfortably and faster between the two destinations, the flight uses the Pilatus PC12 aircraft, with fewer or no stops in between the destinations. This is to ensure that guests enjoy first class experience, at no additional cost. The flight departs Zanzibar in the morning, flying directly into Serengeti, then flies directly back to Zanzibar where guests arrive in time for lunch. In Serengeti, it serves 3 airstrips, with the first stop being at Seronera, and the other two depending on the location of the wildebeest migration.
