Galapagos volcanic activity update

Tropic Ecuador has been continuously monitoring the Sierra Negra volcanic activity on Isabela and partnering with local authorities on access to tourist activities in the vicinity. To that end, they are excited to announce that they will be able to bring clients back to the volcano! In conjunction with the park authorities reopening the volcano to tourism, Tropic is proceeding with the utmost caution, following exacting regulations as defined by the authorities.

The most important new information is that the volcano will be open to Mirador 2 only, while access to the Minas de Azufre site will up to zone 1. The park will be allowing fewer tourists in at any given time, and each visitor must carry a disposable or buff mask, sunglasses, long pants, long-sleeved shirts and appropriate shoes for the terrain.

Tropic have their own offices in Galapagos, which means their ‘dream team’ are able to stay in constant contact with clients on the ground providing updates and information. They will continue in lockstep with the park and local authorities, and will stay in close communication with you on any changes in the situation.
