Green season magic in Hwange

Who says travelers should only visit Hwange in the dry season? The Ngamo Plains in the southeast of the park come alive in the green season (January through April). The vegetation turns a lush green; the seasonally flooded pans fill with water attracting stunning birdlife including numerous migratory species; the wildebeest and impala are calving and lambing; and predators such as lion, cheetah, and African wild dog are in attendance. Photographic opportunities are excellent with contrasts of blue sky, bright green bush, white puffy clouds and blooming flowers. Get a glimpse of this glorious season here.

Another benefit of visiting at this time is that there are fewer visitors so guests will feel as though they have the park to themselves. Imvelo offers several specials in the green season including Stay 3 / Pay 2 and Stay 6 / Pay 4 deals, and the single supplement is waived. In addition to all this, guests have access to visit Imvelo’s Community Rhino Conservation Initiative (CRCI), and a visit to Imvelo’s neighbors in the community – always a source of spontaneous fun – will be a memorable addition to the safari experience.

Imvelo’s Bomani and Camelthorn lodges are ideally located in the area and the perfect base to explore Hwange in the green season. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with Imvelo’s reservations team, should you have guests keen to visit during this special time of year.
