With this special, the effective nightly rack rate at Gorges/Little Gorges Lodge is $227pp and at Bomani Tented Lodge is $239pp in the Hornbill tents or $266 in the Spurwing suites!

DAY 1: Gorges Lodge – Arrival and black eagle viewing
• Arrive at Victoria Falls Airport where your Zimbabwean safari experience begins. You will be met by our transfer vehicle for your road transfer to Gorges Lodge on the edge of the Batoka Gorge, 200 metres above the mighty Zambezi River (30 mins).
• Gorges Lodge has arguably the most spectacular views in Southern Africa and offers a unique Victoria Falls experience from a peaceful and idyllic base on the edge of the Batoka Gorge.
• Spend the afternoon sipping delicious refreshments by the pool enjoying the amazing view and then in the evening head off to Dibu Dibu for sundowners and snacks while you watch the lodge’s resident pair of black eagles soar only metres away from you (weather permitting).
• After the black eagle viewing take a leisurely stroll back to the main lodge reception area where you will be entertained by our team of talented traditional dancers and then enjoy a tasty 3 course dinner in the main lodge area, overlooking the gorge before retiring to your chalet and falling asleep to the sound of the river rushing below you.

DAY 2: Gorges Lodge – Village visit and Victoria Falls tour
• Enjoy early morning tea or coffee on your private veranda overlooking the gorge followed by a sumptuous breakfast in the main lodge dining area then head to the nearby Chisuma Village for a village and school tour where you will able to see some of Imvelo’s community initiative projects and then head back to Gorges for a tasty lunch.
• In the afternoon you will road transfer into Victoria Falls town where you will be taken on a guided tour of Zimbabwe’s foremost attraction – the ‘Falls’. “The smoke that thunders” remains one of the most spectacular natural wonders in the world. This will be followed by curio shopping at the craft village.
• Return to Gorges Lodge in the evening for a traditional Zimbabwean ‘braai’ out under the stars.

DAY 3: Gorges Lodge – Sundowner cruise and optional activities or Batoka Gorge hike
• This day can be spent at your leisure – relax by the pool and soak in the spectacular views or enjoy a guided nature walk along the edge of the gorge. For the more adventurous – you can take a guided hike down to the bottom of the gorge.
• Later in the afternoon you will catch the road transfer into town where you will be taken to the river’s edge for your sunset cruise on the Zambezi River.
• After your cruise return to Gorges Lodge for a tasty 3 course dinner in the main lodge dining  area with the mighty Zambezi rushing below you.
** It is possible for guests to do additional activities in Victoria Falls town on this day at their own additional expense.

 

DAY 4: Bomani Tented Lodge – Elephant Express rail car and bush dinner
• Enjoy the sunrise over the gorge while sipping steaming coffee or tea on your veranda followed by breakfast in the main lodge area and later catch your shuttle transport to Dete near Hwange Main Camp (1.5 hours) where you will catch the Elephant Express, Imvelo’s one of a kind rail car for the remaining 2 hour transfer to Bomani Tented Lodge.
• This comfortable tented lodge is situated on a private concession on the edge of the remote and unspoilt south eastern corner of Hwange National Park. Bomani is famous for its unique scenery as well as its large herds of elephants and all other animals and birdlife resident in Hwange.
• After settling into your tent head out for a late afternoon game drive stopping for sundowners and canapés by one of this area’s beautiful waterholes.
• Head back to camp and enjoy a 3 course supper out under the stars next to the lodge waterhole

DAY 5: Bomani Tented Lodge – All-day safari deep into Hwange NP
We depart in the early morning for an all day safari deep into the southern part of Hwange park with a picnic and siesta under the trees at Mfagazaan Pan.
• Leisurely afternoon game drive back to the lodge going from pan to pan, weaving between the throngs of jostling elephant that come pouring in for the fresh water. This makes for a fun, memorable and extremely rewarding day.
• Freshen up and then refreshments around the campfire followed by supper in the main lodge dining area.

DAY 6: Bomani Tented Lodge – Village visit, afternoon game drive and night drive
• After breakfast  head to Ngamo Village, a 30 minute drive from Bomani, for a very special morning that gives guests a chance to experience a real and un-choreographed interaction with villagers
• The visit culminates in a tour of the school and a singing performance by some of the children followed by a class interaction where children have an opportunity to meet guests and vice versa.
• Return to Bomani for lunch and an hour or 2 in the blind overlooking the camp waterhole before your afternoon game drive on the Ngamo Plains in Hwange National Park, culminating with sundowners overlooking the plains and the spectacular sunsets typical of the green season in Hwange.
• Night drive back to the lodge and then enjoy a 3 course dinner in the dining room.

DAY 7: Morning walking safari and departure
• After morning tea or coffee on your private deck, explore the wilderness one more time on foot, taking a guided early morning walk. On your return enjoy a leisurely breakfast before packing up and heading back to Halfway House where a shuttle vehicle will transfer you to Victoria Falls Airport for your departing flight.
