MT’s first US guests at Iximche

Maya Trails are excited to welcome guests back to Guatemala, and they have their first US guests since March, Ian and Siobhan, visiting this week! Their adventures include a Guatemala City tour, Iximche ruins, Lake Atitlan including a San Juan La Laguna village visit, Comalapa market, a walking tour of Antigua, a Zacapa rum tasting and a delicious and adventurous Pacaya Pizza Experience (see more below)! Ian and Siobhan continue on to Belize with a direct flight from Guatemala City to Belize City.

As Maya Trail’s American guests have found out, all of our traditional activities are available to your guests with new conscious and thoughtful health and safety protocols. Our processes and procedures have been certified and recognized by the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) and the Guatemalan Institute of Tourism (INGUAT) so rest assured that your travelers are in great – and safe – hands with us in Guatemala! You can watch Jimmy’s video update on entry requirements and Covid protocols here.

Finally, yesterday the Maya Trails team went out for pizza . . . on Volcan Pacaya! The Pacaya Pizza Experience is a new culinary adventure option combining hiking on an active volcano with a pizza dinner (or lunch) and volcano-roasted marshmallow smores for dessert! See our photos below and ask us to include this amazingly unique – and delicious – experience for your guests!
