Namibia visa requirements

Since the official announcement of Namibia’s Visa on Arrival online pre-application link, there have been some questions and a couple of teething issues experienced with the application process. Ultimate Safaris is aware of occasional payments issues which are being looked into. Please also note that for all nationalities listed under the Visa on Arrival regime, the Visa on Arrival option needs to be selected, and NOT Holiday Visa. This includes the USA and Canada, among others. Ultimate received an updated press release hope that it explains some of the additional instructions received.

Once the online visa application has been approved, which appears to be processed within days of application, guests are to print their approval letter and, together with the completed Namibia Arrival Form, present these on arrival in Namibia.  It is recommended to process the Visa On Arrival in advance to avoid possible queues on arrival in Namibia. Over 2,000 applications have already been successfully processed but please contact your Journeysmith if you have any further questions regarding this process.

Re-cap on the requirements:

  • Original Passport (Valid 6 months / 3 blank pages)
  • Return ticket (proof of onward ticket)
  • Health insurance (travel insurance) in English. It is conditional to have travel insurance, a standard cover suffices, and guests may be asked to present proof of this on arrival in Namibia
  • All travelers who have booked a safari with Ultimate only need to present information of their hotel arrangements of the first and last night of their holiday and are not required to upload all details of their safari
  • When asked how much funds they have available we recommend that they state N$1000 in cash and rest on credit and debit cards.  No statements or further proof is required.
Should you have any questions, please reach out to your designed Journeysmith, who is on standby to assist.
