New Africa Flights

2017 kicks off with fantastic news of new flights to and within Africa. These flights will make life easier for your Africa travelers, and for you! Check out what is in place and soon to come…

• • Ethiopian Airways will commence service to Victoria Falls Airport (VFA) on March 26th, 2017, with the latest B737-800 New Generation with Sky Interior. Four weekly nonstop flights (Tu/Th/Sa/Su) will depart from Addis Ababa (ADD) at 8:35 am for a 12:15 arrival into VFA – leaving enough time for an afternoon activity for guests! Return flights will also operate four times weekly (Tu/Th/Sa/Su) and depart VFA at 1 pm for a 9:30 pm arrival in ADD via Gaborone.
  • Travelers to Namibia are benefiting from a host of new flight options that went online in the second half of 2016:

• • • Ethiopian Airways added 3 weekly flights from Addis Ababa to Windhoek (WDH) via Gaborone on their Boeing 737-800. Flights depart ADD at 9:40 am and arrive WDH at 4:25 pm. Return flights commence at 10 am and arrive in Addis at 7 pm.
    • Qatar Airways have added flights from Doha (DOH) to WDH four times weekly (Mo/We/Fr/Sa). Flights depart at 2:40 am with a 10:40 am arrival in WDH the same day. Return flights (Mo/We/Fr/Sa) depart WDH at 1:25 pm and arrive in Doha at 11:10 pm that evening. Passengers will ride in comfort on Qatar’s two cabin 787 Dreamliner.
    • KLM added 3 weekly flights from Amsterdam (AMS) to Windhoek (Tu/Fr/Su) via Luanda, Angola (LAD) on their Airbus 330-200. Flights depart AMS at 10:45 pm and arrive in Namibia at 12:15 pm the next day. Return flights are also via LAD (We/Sa/Mo) at 5:40 pm with an AMS arrival next day at 5:20 am.
  • SA Airlink is adding a number of additional flights throughout Southern Africa to its schedule in 2017:

• • Daily Cape Town (CPT) to Windhoek – Depart CPT 10 am with a 12:05 arrival at WDH. Return flights leave WDH at 3 pm for a 5:05 pm CPT arrival. Service begins February 6th.
  • Daily Nelspruit, South Africa (NLP) to Livingstone, Zambia (LVI) – Depart NLP 11:35 am and arrive in Zambia at 1:10 pm. Return flights will depart LVI at 1:45 pm, arriving NLP at 3:25 pm. Service begins March 26th.
  • Daily Johannesburg (JNB) to Vilanculos, Mozambique (VNX) – Depart JNB 11:30 am for a 1:10 pm arrival in Mozambique. Return flights depart VNX at 1:45 pm and arrive in JNB at 3:10 pm. Service begins April 13th.
  • Daily Cape Town to Maun, Botswana (MUB) – Depart CPT 10:35 am arrive MUB 1:05. Return flights depart MUB 1:35 for a 4:10 pm arrival in CPT. The new flights to make the schedule daily are on Tu/Th and begin June 6th.
  • Nelspruit to Vilanculos service frequency to increase – Current flights operate Th/Su. Airlink will add flights Tu/Fr beginning March 26th. On July 4, Mo/Sa flights will be added and from August 7, flights will be daily. Flights depart NLP at 11:45 for a 12:45 arrival in Vilanculos. There is no return flight to Nelspruit, however return flights to Johannesburg operate on days above departing VNX at 1:25 pm and arriving JNB at 3:10pm.
