You may have heard that British Airways will be launching direct flights between London Heathrow (LHR) and Durban (King Shaka International DUR) on October 29th, 2018. This is the first direct flight between Durban and any European or British city in over two decades and it opens up wonderful opportunities to access the Drakensberg Mountains (a World Heritage Site), the isiMangaliso Wetlands (a World Heritage Site), the Anglo-Zulu and Anglo-Boer Battlefields, the game reserves of Zululand (including the wonderful Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve), and the coastal areas of Maputaland, with their marine reserve areas.
Durban was recently voted as one of the ‘New 7 Wonders cities of the World,’ and it is a melting pot of European, African and Indian influences. Its warm weather, outdoor lifestyle and the laid-back, friendly attitude of the locals make it a great city to explore by vehicle, bicycle and on foot. New Frontiers have their own local guides to bring local art, culture and food scene of Durban city to life for a city stay. Their new ‘Ultimate Durban‘ day tour includes a dive into the city’s history, time with a horticulturalist in South Africa’s oldest botanic gardens, exploration of hip neighborhoods and local markets and more! Oh – and to end the day, a gin tasting with local connoisseurs. Yes, please!
To celebrate these new flights, New Frontiers are offering ‘stay 3, pay 2‘ at 8 of their favorite KZN properties – from The Oyster Box to Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge – giving your clients the chance to get to know KwaZulu Natal’s many attractions. The offer is valid for all travel between October 29 and December 17, 2018. The only condition is that ONE of the flights must be utilizing the British Airways direct route to Durban (either inbound or outbound), which means that other gateways such as Cape Town or Johannesburg can be used for one sector if required. There is no minimum or maximum stay on the deal and the properties can be combined in any order or used in isolation.
Your New Frontiers consultant knows to look out for the direct arrival to apply the stay/pay deal but as a further failsafe, please specify ‘BA Durban Direct Offer’ on any requests.
