Kayaking Isla Espiritu Santo: A Migratory Glamping Adventure

This month marks the launch of a moveable glamping and kayaking adventure along the coastline of Isla Espiritu Santo on the Sea of Cortez. On this 6-day, 5-night trip, guests kayak the length of the island, making camp at three beautiful beaches along the way. Additional activities include swimming with playful sea lions, snorkeling colorful reefs, hiking volcanic trails, bird watching (even blue-footed boobies!), and taking in the stars and Milky Way at night! For a personal account, read Tad’s Top Five Memories from his Baja kayak glamping trip in March, “testing” out the new itinerary!

Camp Colossus (as the movable abodes have been named) features just four 12′ x 16′ walk-in tents (sleeping 2 – 3 guests each) with comfortable cots with sleeping bags, chairs inside and out, bedside tables with lamps, storage areas and towels. There is a dining area where the camp chefs serve terrific food throughout the day, starting with cold breakfast and coffee, followed by hot breakfast, lunch, happy hour and dinner. A compost toilet cabaña completes the camp.

Though this adventure will be offered on a private basis, TOSEA are kicking it off with a celebratory set departure scheduled for the festive season this year: December 25-30, 2018. Rack (commissionable) pricing for exclusive private departures: 4-5 pax US$2,700/person, 6-7 pax US$2,200/person, 8+ pax US$2,000/person, Single supplement is $700. Read the full itinerary here.

Camp Cecil & Los Colibris Casitas

Bryan and Sergio are also the owners/operators of two exclusive accommodation options, adding to the high-touch experience for guests. Click here for a video tour!

Camp Cecil is on everyone’s wish list since opening its ‘flaps’ in 2016. Located on Isla Espiritu Santo in the Sea of Cortez, Camp Cecil is a haven for travelers wishing to unplug from everyday life and plug into the beauty of Baja California Sur. Guests will love the comfort of the eight walk-in safari style tents (with real beds!), dinning tent (with food prepared by a personal chef) and the lounging areas. A stay at the camp is guaranteed to be a highlight of any adventure!

Los Colibris Casitas boast the most stunning views in Todos Santos, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. They have been awarded TripAdvisor’s “Certificate of Excellence” every year since 2011. Offering a variety of accommodation options, Los Colibris is a true oasis with the best welcome around! And, let’s not forget to mention Iker’s Colibris Cafe serving the best breakfast in town and home to fun-filled cooking classes!

Positive Impact

TOSEA is committed to the health and well-being of the local environment. Among other actions, they have completely eliminated single-use plastics in their business and procurement practices (check-out the ad, inset here, from their new campaign), and they’re working towards becoming carbon neutral.

But for TOSEA, the local environment covers not only the local ecosystems, but the people and businesses of Baja California Sur as well. They work closely with and support local individuals and businesses including the local fishing cooperatives along the Pacific coastline, the ranchers and burreros of the Sierra La Laguna mountains, local and independent adventure professionals, and locally owned and operated art galleries, shops, restaurants, hotels, and nonprofit organizations working for the betterment of the local community.

TOSEA are proud sponsors of the Todos Santos Music Festival, the GastroVino Festival, the Todos Santos Film Festival, as well as local boxing, soccer and baseball clubs.
