What’s happening this week in the Kusini Collection:

Tracking wild dogs from Laikipia Wilderness Camp is
an amazing experience

Albatros East Africa: If your clients are looking for an active safari, the traditional photographic destinations of Kenya and Tanzania have a huge variety of ways to get travelers out of the car and into the action! Albatros East Africa has put together a tempting list of activities, from the more familiar walking safaris to white water rafting, bicycling, climbing, rhino tracking, fly fishing and more. There’s something for everyone, and most can be either a focal point for the safari, or an exciting way to break up game drives. Check out the blog for ideas, then contact Jennie to plan your client’s trip!

Newer accommodations like Gheralta Lodge are making
Ethiopia a hot destination

Travel Ethiopia: Ethiopia is in the midst of a massive building boom, including new luxury hotels and light rail in Addis, an expansion to Bole International Airport, new and improved highways, and more. CNN calls the country the ‘next big thing in Africa travel,’ and we think they’re right! The country is working hard to meet expectations for comfort and luxury. As a result, tourism arrivals are expected to top one million this year for the first time. Gretchen and a group of North American agents are currently exploring the historic north with Travel Ethiopia. Stay tuned for a first-hand report on newer lodges such as Lima Limo, Gheralta Lodge and more, and keep an eye on Instagram for photos during their travels!

Time spent with rancheros adds a richness to any visit to BCS

Todos Santos Eco Adventures: Mind over matter is a powerful tool as demonstrated by one of Baja California Sur’s (BCS) renowned healers. Catarino Rosas Espinosa (aka Don Cata) believes it is one of the best ways we can help ourselves prevent and/or recover from illness and injury. But how does one get a mind that is so powerful it can stop rattlesnake venom from reaching the heart? “Plants,” says Don Cata. Don Cata is just one of the many fascinating rancheros travelers will meet in the Sierra of BCS with Todos Santos Eco Adventures. Ask us how to incorporate an experience with them for your clients. The safari includes wonderful cultural opportunities along
with wildlife viewing

Ultimate Safaris: Does ‘affordable fully privately guided safari’ sound like an oxymoron? It’s not. Ultimate Safaris has bent over backwards to craft a fantastic 10-day safari that hits Namibia’s highlights without breaking the bank. Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Damaraland, Etosha and AfriCat are all part of the itinerary, and the daily rate comes out to less than $400/person/day for two guests (with an even more impressive green season rate!). As always, Ultimate can customize as requested and will do their utmost to meet your client’s budgetary requirements. Contact us for the full itinerary.
