The Outpost – How to combine it with other favorites!

The Outpost: So what makes a combination of Kings Camp (Timbavati) or Leopard Hills (Sabi Sands) with The Outpost so appealing? Kings Camp and Leopard Hills offer denser thicket vegetation in flatter landscapes: ideal for leopard, lion, rhino and elephant. The Outpost on the other hand is 180 kms further north, in the Makuleke region, situated on a cliff edge overlooking the Luvuvhu River Valley. Expect 1000 year-old baobabs, Fever Tree Forests and open savannah grassland in an area containing almost 80% of the Kruger National Park’s diversity. With only three camps in an enormous 26 500 ha concession, the only other residents you will see are herds of buffalo and elephant, the Makuleke lion pride and hippos and crocodiles in the Levuvhu River. This is South Africa at its wildest, and bush walks here are included in your stay, giving a unique perspective of your dramatic surroundings.
Easily Combining The Outpost

We love combining safari areas in South Africa to showcase the diversity of the country, and when it can be done easily and cost effectively, even better. The Outpost, in the remote Pafuri concession, now falls under the Seasons in Africa brand (together with Kings Camp and Leopard Hills in the Greater Kruger, and Madikwe Hills in Madikwe Game Reserve), and they have in turn provided highly reasonable seat in plane rates to the lodge. In addition, the year through specials (Stay 5 Pay 4; Stay 8 Pay 6 at a combination of their lodges) includes The Outpost as well.

Seat in plane rates are available from Phalaborwa Airport, Kings Camp, and Leopard Hills, starting at R1450 per person each way.
